Watch almost any national TV broadcast of a Cincinnati Reds or Bengals game and you'll likely see a view of the stadium with the bridge in the foreground. Those tower lights were last replaced in the mid-1980s,The commonwealth of Kentucky, which owns the bridge, takes care of the roadway lights.

"The committee in charge of the bridge's lights and flags is replacing lights on its signature towers, The bridge will be brighter at night and stand out more than it has in the past. Especially when they show the night views, what stands out is the lights. The goal is to have an All-Star bridge for the All-Star Game."

"The current project, including the necklace lights, will total about $400,000. Blue Ash-based commercial lighting company LSI Industries Inc. is making and donating the lights. That's worth somewhere in the tens of thousands of dollars. LSI CEO Dennis Wells said his company created a special light that features the same yellowish color as other lights on the bridge. And it had to do a custom paint job on the lights to get the same specific shade of blue that the bridge is painted."
